Some of our current projects include:
The design, installation, operation and funding of district heating system to serve 3500 homes in Clapham as part of a major regeneration project.
The design and installation of a heat network in a rural community in Cambridgeshire to replace oil boilers in 300 homes with centralised low carbon heat generation.
The design and installation of a ground source heat pump system to provide heating and cooling to a new development of 300 homes a gym and office building in South London.
The design, installation and operation of a new city centre wide low carbon district heating system for the City of Cardiff
Developing detailed long-term decarbonisation plans for existing large scale district heating networks to allow them to transition from gas fired CHP led generation to low carbon generation.

The Role
Hemiko are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to assist in delivering a full Health and Safety service, supporting all parts of the business and providing advice in a business focused, consistent and timely way.
Specifically, the successful candidate will provide advice and support to all Hemiko colleagues by ensuring health, and safety practices are identified and implemented in line with our company values, and in accordance with our Health and Safety Policy, acting on identified risks as and when required, helping to ensure a safe working environment for our people and those affected by our actions including visitors, residents and contractors, across operations, construction sites and offices.
The successful candidate will support the Health and Safety Manager in the management, monitoring, inspection and continual development of the organisation’s Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental programmes.
Key responsibilities:
To ensure that Health and Safety requirements are set and met throughout the company
To advise, support and train managers in the Management of Health and Safety
Advise colleagues of current legislation and good practice to enable them to carry out their duties and exercise their responsibilities,
To carry out regular Health and Safety Audits and Inspections across the regions to ensure that Hemiko's policies are being adhered to and that the company is compliant with legislation
To assist in the preparation of Health and Safety operational plans including review of Policy, statement and Health and Safety Procedures,
To assist the Health and Safety Manager, and other team members in continuously improving the Health and Safety Management system and service to our colleagues
To support Health and Safety Manager in reviewing all documents within Health and Safety remit
Support the Health and Safety Manager in CHAS and ISO45001 - preparing for assessment ensuring compliance targets and external accreditations are met and maintained
Support departments in the development and review of Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work
Responsibility for reviewing risk and COSHH assessments with line managers
Review accident and near miss reporting including RIDDORs and investigations
Review and update COSHH database with the Health and Safety Manager
To meet with client where necessary
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Minimum three years in a similar role, preferably in the Energy Sector and District Heating
Member of IOSH and TechIOSH level
NEBOSH General Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
CSCS or EUSR
First Aid at Work
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
Knowledge of Process Safety
A strong sense of ownership with good work ethic
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Full driving licence
Comprehensive understanding of all Microsoft Office applications

Remuneration: Base £40,000-£45,000 depending on experience.

Ener-Vate has established a reputation for being a trusted commercial advisor and partner to our clients within the decentralised energy / low carbon heating sector. We support our clients from the concept stages of feasibility, business case development, commercialisation, funding applications, procurement, project management and asset management of low carbon energy infrastructure delivered typically via an Energy Services Company.
Ener-Vate is part of the Natural Resources and Energy division within the Peel Group.
So, what are we looking for?
Based at our offices in Manchester or Stoke on Trent, the Sales and Project Coordinator will support on the delivery of projects across the Pre-Construction and Ener-Vate Asset Management Service (EAMS) functions, under the direction of the focus area lead.
They will support in delivering a high-quality customer journey, providing focused effort in producing the required collateral to support the process from initial enquiry through to completion of connection / development / supply agreements.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with high levels of numeracy, analytical skills and who are proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. They will have a critical eye for detail for commercial and counterfactual modelling, the ability to work effectively across all areas of the consultancy functions and manage multiple conflicting demands and deadlines. Excellent report writing skills for a variety of customer types and forums is essential.
Project management experience demonstrated through PRINCE 2 or similar Association of Project Managers qualification is desirable, alongside a technical competency in order to understand the implications technical assumptions as they impact the commercial model.
It would be advantageous when completing this role to have experience in supporting successful application to government support schemes for the district heating industry e.g. HNIP, GHNF, LCITP, Salix.
What will you be doing?
Developing and maintaining project trackers e.g. actions, stakeholder updates and reporting.
Attending customer meetings where appropriate, distributing timely minutes and tracking actions and compliance.
Managing, paying and tracking project payments and milestones as directed by the project lead.
Producing and distributing customer materials e.g. RFIs and customer proposals including chasing responses as appropriate to support consultancy sales teams.
Manipulating existing commercial models to take into account specific customer parameters e.g. customer comparators as appropriate to support consultancy sales teams.

The ideal candidate will have industry knowledge as well as previous experience within Bureau Services. Having knowledge of large validation and tenant recharging would be preferred although this is not a necessity. The basic role is to deal with all areas of the billing and customer service area of the bureau services
The role will involve the management of high volumes of data within both spreadsheets and in-house databases.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Ensure that opportunities for new business are dealt with professionally and appropriately at all times.
Act as initial point of contact for all customer queries either by telephone or electronically and respond promptly and efficiently to all enquiries.
Log and resolve customer complaints and handle product and service inquiries. Direct requests and issues to designated resource.
Manage customer accounts; allocating and reconciling for referral process.
Organise workflow to meet service level agreements.
Submitting timely and accurate statements of energy consumption and charges for heating and hot water are generated and distributed to residents each month.

Support the Bureau Manager by providing regular reports on heat meter status, meter reads and consumption data.
Attend meetings with clients to explain heat network charges and to promote understanding of heat tariffs.
The candidate will:
Have previous experience in either the Housing finance (particularly utility invoices) or Energy sector.
Good organisational skills,
Proficient with numeracy.
Have a strong understanding of the principles of customer care.
Be IT literate with advance knowledge of Word and Excel.
Some experience of account management.
Strong oral and written communication skills, feeling comfortable with presentations.
Have a recognised qualification in finance or energy sector would be beneficial.
