What you’ll be doing;

You will ensure the financial risk for the prompt and the curve for the Export and Import portfolio revenue is being proactively managed as per company policies.

This will include hedging strategy & implementation, leading Analyses, as well as trading modelling and reporting.

You will monitor, forecast and manage revenue risk for the export/import portfolio by using existing reports and leading our Quantitative Analyst to develop new reports and models as required, ensuring regular reports, presentations and analyses prepared for senior management are accurate and timely. Creating a Power stack model to develop the team’s longer-term view of power prices and contribute to ongoing review of hedging strategy.

As well as ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures – including maintaining and ensuring compliance of procedures as directed by the Trading Operations Manager for the management of the Front Office and supporting the Risk Committee decision making process on hedging power.

What we’re looking for;

  • Experience in portfolio risk management
  • Knowledge of UK Power and Gas Market
  • Highly Numerate and Analytical
  • Experience of developing forecasting models and quantitative analysis techniques
  • Highly skilled in use of more than one of the following programming languages: Python, R, SQL, Java, C/C++
  • Direct experience of hedging power at prompt or the curve would be advantageous.
  • Direct experience of leading/managing team members would be advantageous
