E.ON is one of the UK’s leading power and gas companies – generating and distributing electricity, and retailing power and gas – and is part of the E.ON group, one of the world’s
largest investor-owned power and gas companies. We employ around 15,000 people in the UK and
over 85,000 worldwide.

Here in the UK, they generate and distribute electricity, and retail electricity and gas to millions of homes and businesses across the country.
In addition, we offer a range of home energy services, including boiler and central heating repairs and maintenance. We produce electricity from a portfolio of world class power stations
and are one of the leading names in green generation.

Renewable Energy

E.ON are one of the leading green developers, owners and operators of wind farms in the UK today. They’ve been involved in wind energy projects since 1992 and now have 21 wind farms located from Cambridgeshire to Kintyre, as well as being a partner in the London Array, the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

As part of generating energy from renewable sources they have built one of the UK’s largest dedicated biomass power stations at Lockerbie and are currently testing a wave power device off Orkney.

They are committed to schemes that bring income, local employment opportunities, potential tourism and educational interest to the local communities that they work in.

E.ON finds volunteering opportunities for employees across the UK, working with schools, older people and other vulnerable groups as part of its wider community relations programme. In 2009, E.ON employees spent over 8,000 hours volunteering in their local communities.

Their carbon consultancy service helps deliver:

  • Carbon management from proven experts
  • Hassle free access to the latest technologies and innovations
  • Reduction in energy use and costs

  • An enhanced reputation for good corporate governance

Microgeneration Solutions

Renewable energy solutions that will help you meet your low carbon targets. Including air and ground source heat pumps and CHP.

Microgeneration technologies introduce renewable energy solutions into an existing energy infrastructure, helping you to meet your low carbon targets, obligations and to reduce costs. From solar thermal to solar PV and from ground source heat pumps (GSHPs) and air source heat pumps (ASHPs), E.ON can specify, install and commission those most appropriate to your needs.

Community Energy

E.ON is working hard to increase local generation. Community (decentralised) energy delivers low and zero carbon energy to the communities in which it is produced.

The threat of climate change means we need to provide vital energy for the UK in a way that minimises the impact we have on the environment – while still being reliable and affordable.

E.ON have become a recognised leader in the development of decentralised (community) energy. Created from renewable sources, it brings low and even zero carbon heat, hot water and electricity directly to local communities. And, because it is produced close to where it’s needed, community energy reduces transmission losses and, over the longer term, the cost of heating and electricity.

Infrastructure

E.ON is pioneering the development of low carbon LED streetlights, designed to improve the UK’s roads, highways and public spaces.

They lead the development of low carbon LED streetlights in the UK and work closely with local authorities on the installation of highways and public space lighting. Their Dynamic Management service also allows them to remotely monitor lighting performance, reduces maintenance costs and energy wastage and our innovative Marlin LED lamp can reduce CO2 emissions and energy by up to 70% and result in operation cost savings of £33,000.
